Horia Stan.

Music producer, sound engineer, and digital builder. Based in Bucharest. Two serious crafts, one standard.

I'm Horia Stan. I produce music and I build software. Both for the same reason - I like making things that work the way they should.

I've been in music for about five years and writing code for about the same. I'm self-taught in everything I do. Nobody sat me down and explained the craft. I found the work, I picked it apart, I kept at it.

On the music side I work with artists who already know what they want. I handle production, recording, mix, and master. Dark pop, pop alternative, trap, liquid drum and bass, and lo-fi - that's the range I keep coming back to. Ada Petcu was my first loyal client. She's also become a close collaborator and a good friend.

On the digital side I founded Legacies - a software studio building productivity tools. I lead the technical direction and work with a small team to ship every product. The first proper site I shipped was theonerecords.com, then the .co.uk version after it.

Two different worlds. Same standard. No shortcuts, no filler, no templates.

Why both

People ask why I do both. Honest answer - it wasn't a plan. I started because the work was there, and I kept going because I liked it. Music and code look different from the outside but the loop is the same. You make something. You listen to it, or you run it. You fix what's wrong. You ship it.

That's the whole thing. I'd rather be good at two hard things than average at one.
